About Us

Our names are Michael & Cara Montalvo and we are fully appointed Pen. Florida career missionaries to the “Warm Heart of Africa”…Malawi! My wife and I are both living testimonies of the amazing ministry happening at Faith Assembly in Orlando where we got saved, delivered and called to missions.

After recently giving my life to Christ, I was at a life-changing summer camp where one night the speaker asked us to close our eyes and imagine the destiny of your life as a chalkboard. He then charged us with this question: “Will you let God write whatever He wants on it?” That night, I saw “Missionary” on my chalkboard. So I joined our church’s ministry college, studying Global University classes. That’s where I met Cara. 

Cara had rededicated her life to Christ in college after being raised in a Christian home and walking away from the Lord. She was on her way to pursue her dream in musical theater & the arts when God called her to full-time ministry at our young adult’s ministry. Here, God called Cara to missions as well and awakened a passion and desire for Cara to take the first opportunity she could to go to Africa in 2017!

In the summer of 2020, Cara and I got married and began to pray for the Lord to call us both to share one vision for a life in missions together. That fall, our youth ministry had a Speed the Light fundraiser for building water systems in Sub Saharan Africa. We prayed for God to tell us how much we should give, and He quickly told  us a very sacrificial percentage of our income.
Deep in my spirit at that same moment, I recalled that the Word says in Matthew that, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” About 2 weeks later, the Lord confirmed that word by showing me a vision of the two of us serving the Youth of Africa.

 

So, we said YES to the call.  Shortly after that, we found out we were pregnant with our twin boys! Fast forward to today, we are welcoming our new twins baby Opal & Milo into the mix as well. What a permanent reminder to us that in the midst of our “Yes,” Simon, Jesse, Opal, & Milo were each individually a part of that call as well.

We are passionate and excited for what God is going to do in the Youth of Malawi.
